UK Student Visa Document Checklist (2025)

Planning to study in the UK? To secure your UK student visa, you must prepare and submit the correct documents. Below is a complete UK visa document checklist for international students, simplified for easy understanding.

📌 Important Notes Before You Start

• Always name your documents with the document type + GWF reference number.
  Example: Passport GWF123456789

• You can upload documents online when submitting your visa application OR use the VFS scanning service (extra charge: INR 1716) at the time of your biometric appointment.

• All documents must be original, untampered, and in English.

📝 Mandatory Documents (Must Carry to VFS Centre)

1. All original passports (Old + New)

2. Passport photocopies (first and last page)

3. Printed online visa application form

4. Printed visa document checklist (downloaded from portal)

5. Printed VFS appointment letter

📑 Supporting Documents (If Not Uploaded Online)

Depending on your profile and CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), you may also need:

• CAS letter printout (no need for conditional/unconditional offer letter)

• University fee payment receipt (if not shown fully in CAS; TT copies not accepted)

• Education loan sanction letter + branch manager’s visiting card

• Bank balance certificate + bank statement (on official letterhead with name, logo, address, email, and contact number)

• Fixed Deposit (FD) balance certificate + FD receipts (with bank details as above)

• English proficiency test score (if mentioned in CAS)

• Bachelor’s degree + all transcripts/marksheets (include backlog details if large study gap)

• 12th class passing certificate + marksheet

• 10th class certificate + marksheet (not compulsory for PG applicants)

• Work experience letters, appointment letters, or salary statements (if applicable)

• Under-18 consent letter from parents + birth certificate (if student is under 18)

• Consent letter + birth certificate (if showing funds from parents’ bank account)

• NHS (National Health Surcharge) payment confirmation email

• ATAS certificate (only if mentioned in CAS)

• Health Surcharge:

  • £776 per year
