Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s Programs:
Educational Requirements: Equivalent to Swedish upper secondary education, with a minimum of S.S.C & H.S.C GPA of 3.5.
English Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS Academic: Minimum 6.0 for Bachelor's.
PTE Academic: Score of 58-60
TOEFL iBT: Minimum of 80+
Note: Some universities may accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter if your degree was taught in English. Always confirm with the university.
Master’s Programs:
Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0, or 2.75 for certain programs.
English Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS Academic: Minimum 6.5 for Master’s (no individual band below 5.5).
PTE Academic: Score of 58-60
TOEFL iBT: Minimum 88 (no section below 20).
Required Documents for Sweden University Application
To start your application, the following documents are necessary:
Academic Certificates & Transcripts: Translated into English.
English Proficiency Certificate: IELTS/TOEFL/PTE score reports.
Statement of Purpose (SOP): A letter explaining why you want to study in Sweden and your career goals.
Letters of Recommendation: From your professors or previous employers.
Curriculum Vitae (CV): Detailing your academic and professional background.
Visa Requirement Checklist for Sweden Student Visa
For a successful visa application, ensure you have the following documents:
Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Sweden.
Passport-sized Photograph: A recent color photograph as per specifications.
Completed and Signed Visa Application Form: Make sure all sections are filled accurately.
Acceptance Letter (Offer Letter): A formal offer letter from a Swedish university.
Proof of Tuition Fee Payment: Provide proof of tuition fee payment (official receipt from the university).
Proof of Financial Means:
Bank statement(s) showing transactions for at least the last 6 months, and the required balance.
Bank Verification Letter/Solvency Certificate: An official letter from your bank confirming the available balance and stating the funds are for your studies in Sweden.
Sponsor Documents (If applicable):
Notarized affidavit of sponsorship.
Sponsor's bank statements (last 6 months or more).
Sponsor’s proof of income (employment letter, salary slips, etc.).
Accommodation Proof: Documents showing where you will live in Sweden (university dormitory, private accommodation, or shared housing).
Health Insurance: Universities provide health insurance if your studies last one year. If your program is shorter than one year, you must arrange for your own insurance.
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): Must be original, legalized, and translated if not in English/Swedish.
Application Fee
University Application Fee: SEK 900 (approx. BDT 10,000). This fee covers applications for up to 4 universities.
Proof of Financial Means for Sweden Student Visa
Required Amount: SEK 10,314 per month for your stay (SEK 123,768 for 12 months).
Bank Verification Letter: An official letter from the bank confirming the funds are for your studies in Sweden.
Health Insurance
Health Insurance: Universities provide health insurance if your studies last for at least one year. If your study period is less than a year, you must arrange your own health insurance.
VFS Global Application Submission Process (Dhaka)
Pay Visa Fee: SEK 1,500 (approx. BDT 14,800) for adults; SEK 750 for children.
VFS Service Fee: Approx. BDT 1,125.
Schedule Appointment: Book your appointment with VFS Global for biometrics and document submission.
Attend Appointment: Submit original documents and copies, provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo).
Optional Interview: Generally not required for student visas, but the Migration Agency may call you for further clarification if needed.
Work Rights for Sweden Students
Work During Study: You are allowed to work without restrictions on hours during your study period.
Expected Monthly Income from Part-Time Work: SEK 5,000-6,000 (approx. BDT 60,000-70,000).
Visa Processing Time
Visa processing can take several weeks to months after submitting biometrics. Apply well in advance to avoid delays.
