European University Cyprus Admission and Visa Requirements

International Students Admission Requirements:

Undergraduates:

  • Completed Application Form: Along with a non-refundable fee of €80 (or apply online).

  • Official High School Records:

  • Certified copy of High School Leaving Certificate (HSC) and Grade Marksheets in English.

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency (if available):

    • Exemptions:

    • Applicants with a TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based) or higher, IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, or English IGCSE grade C or above are exempt from the English Placement Test (EPT).

    • Other external exams may also be accepted (check with the Admissions Office).

    • British nationals are exempt from English requirements.

    • Applicants without the required scores will take the EPT upon arrival.

  • Passport-Sized Photo:

  • A recent photo.

  • Copy of Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 2 years beyond the expected study start date.

Payment of Fees:

  • Upon receipt of an acceptance letter from the University, undergraduate students are required to submit a down payment of €1,100 for on-campus programs and €500 for the distance learning programs. The payment can be done online via JCC.

Postgraduates:

  • A completed application form together with a non-refundable fee of €80*. Applicants may also apply online here.

  • Official copy of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in English (or official copies of professional qualifications).

  • Official copy of academic transcript, in English.

  • Official copy of High School Leaving Certificate and grade marksheet in English.

  • Proof of English language proficiency (if any).

  • One recommendation letter.

  • Proof of work experience (if applicable).

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).

  • Copy of a valid passport (for international applicants only).

  • International English Language Exams:

    • IELTS: Band 6.5 or above

    • TOEFL (IBT): Minimum score 94

    • SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW): Minimum score 580

    • Other equivalent exams may also be accepted.

    • English Placement Test of European University Cyprus (prior to admission) with a passing grade in ENL102.

Visa Requirements:

Required Documents:

  • Academic Records:

    • Undergraduate: Certified copy of High School Leaving Certificate (HSC) and Grade Marksheets in English.

    • Master’s Students: Certified copy of Bachelor’s Degree or professional qualifications from a recognized university.

    • PhD Students: Certified copies of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees.

  • Passport: Certified copy of a valid passport, valid for a minimum of 2 years.

  • English Language Proficiency:

    • Certified proof of English proficiency according to CEFR (B2).

    • Exemptions: Applicants with a degree in English or certain recognized exams like IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 94 may be exempt.

    • British nationals are exempt from English requirements.

  • Good Conduct Certificate: Certified original Police Clearance Certificate confirming a clear criminal record, issued within 6 months of submission.

  • Health Certificates: Certified original health certificates for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and a Chest X-ray (TB), issued within 4 months from public hospitals.

  • Financial Proof:

    • Certified bank letter and recent bank statement confirming sufficient funds (€7,000) for tuition fees and living expenses in Cyprus.

    • Bank letter issued within 6 months, and bank statement covering the last 2 months of transactions.

Payment & Visa Requirements:

  • Down Payment:

    • Undergraduate Students: €1,100

    • Postgraduate Students: €500

    • Payment must be made after receiving the acceptance letter.

  • Student Visa Application:

    • Visa approval is required from the Ministry of Education and Cyprus Migration Office.

    • Temporary Residence Permit (Student Visa Card) is issued after arrival and completion of registration and payments.

  • Tuition Fees:

    • Tuition fees are based on teaching hours. Payments can be made monthly.

    • An initial €3,000 must be paid before submitting the visa documents.

    • No refunds for credit balances.

Immigration Charge: An additional €175 for the student visa card is payable after arrival in Cyprus.
